| ELCAN Launches DigitalHunter DayNight™ |
|
Digital Riflescope That Functions as a Day Scope and a Night Scope
Richardson, Texas-Nov 9, 2006 - ELCAN Optical Technologies, a Raytheon company - the company who brought digital riflescopes to the battlefield - announces the production launch of its new DigitalHunter DayNight ™ riflescope. DigitalHunter DayNight joins DigitalHunter in ELCAN's exciting digital riflescope product line. DayNight can be purchased from approved dealers and will be available for shipment Dec 15, 2006. Approved dealers can be located on ELCAN's website at www.elcansportingoptics.com.
DigitalHunter DayNight (Model #DHDN) is a digital riflescope functional during the day, twilight, and night. The DAYLIGHT mode provides the same excellent performance and operation during the day as DigitalHunter (Model #DH1). The new LOW LIGHT mode provides stunning low light performance during twilight. When used with a commonly available near-infrared illuminator (purchased separately), DigitalHunter DayNight displays black and white imagery of objects at night up to 65 yards away. Near-infrared illuminators - also called IR Flashlights - emit light largely invisible to mammals but visible to DigitalHunter DayNight. DigitalHunter DayNight is a lower-cost, good-resolution alternative to image intensifier or thermal riflescopes. And since DigitalHunter DayNight is a digital riflescope, it provides electronic ballistic compensation, automatic video and still image capture and replay, field selectable reticles, and customizable reticles.
"DigitalHunter DayNight extends the compelling values of DigitalHunter into the late twilight and darkest of nights by leveraging the power of modern digital technology,” Rusty Mauldin, ELCAN Sporting Optics Product Manager, said. “The ability to use the same riflescope during the day, twilight, and night gives the modern hunter much more versatility with his hunting and surveillance options – at any time of the day or night."

| DigitalHunter™ Riflescope To Launch in February |
|
Richardson, Texas–February 2, 2006 - ELCAN Optical Technologies, a
Raytheon company - the company who brought digital riflescopes to the
battlefield - announces the February 2006 production launch of its new
DigitalHunter™ riflescope. DigitalHunter riflescopes will be available then
for purchase from approved dealers. Approved dealers can be located on
ELCAN's website at www.elcansportingoptics.com.
DigitalHunter represents the first product in the exciting new riflescope
category, Digital Riflescopes. "DigitalHunter provides far more value to
the hunter than the traditional "glass and metal" riflescope by leveraging
the power of modern digital technology," Rusty Mauldin, ELCAN Sporting
Optics Product Manager, said. "Digital electronics add so much to the
hunter's sighting system that they can no longer be ignored by the
riflescope industry."
Not only does DigitalHunter perform the basic role of a riflescope, which is
to help control the impact point of the bullet, it also adds benefits never
before provided by a riflescope. Benefits include digital ballistic
compensation, video and image capture and immediate replay, field-switchable
reticles, customizable reticles, no parallax, and a large constant exit
pupil. Field-switchable, customizable reticles provide a tremendous
advantage to the hunter because now a riflescope doesn't have to be
purchased based on the reticle offered. Hunters can make their own reticle
in any color or shape for each field situation and switch reticles at the
touch of one button.
Domestic dealers who desire to retail DigitalHunter should contact ELCAN's manufacturer's representatives for requirements and applications per the following list:
- F & G Outdoor Sales 412-653-3649 CT, DC, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT
